I thought the "!" things popping up on screen were penalties for teams picking a Detour without getting the clue first, haha. Now I see what happened.

So I was right about the spear task. I just thought it was really weird that the second one was worth five points when they need to get six :/

Looks like it involves the same bathing task I've seen in TARUS 21. However, the detours this time are either possibly street performing or street selling and roadblock looks like ascending or descending an old tower under threat of falling into murky water.

TAR China S2 Leg 3
Note : All teams start the leg with no money
           They can only gain money during the detour of this leg
           A 15-min penality will be issued to team for each time they get money from others outside of the detour

Active route marker 1 :
Scrub each other with the soap until the soap was worn away to reveal a picture, which is teams' next destination (same location & task as TAR 21 Leg 6 detour & TAR Aus 2 Leg 6)
Note : teams are only allowed to scrub the skin of each other, otherwise they must redo the task again

Detour :
Perform on street or Shop Shine
Teams can choose either way to gain 40 Turkish lir
Once they get more than 40 lir, they can get their next clue
Note 1 : Teams are allowed to gain more than 40 lir during the detour, they can keep the excess money they gain for this leg of the race
Note 2 : Once teams get their next clue, they are not allowed to gain any more money
Note 3 : For the teams choosing performing on street, the money they receive can only be coins but not banknote

Roadblock :
One team member must ascend an castle in 5 minutes
Otherwise, their teammate will be dropped into muddy water

Xiao Yang of the Chopstick Brothers and Han Geng of his team with Wu Xin did the Roadblock. I think the Detour is a pun of Arts and Crafts even though shoe shining isn't really a craft...

If considering this episode to be the first part of Leg 3 (Quoth Allan verbatim, "this Leg is not over yet") then maybe the Intruding Team can still technically debut next episode. The rest for the night sounds like an 8-hour Pit Stop.

Is this a double-length leg or a No-rest Pit Stop with two legs? (Though there technically is a rest). Do the girls get a Speed Bump?

To me, it looks like a No-Rest Leg, like TAR18 and on. Double-length legs have generally been retired.

This was a great Leg! I loved all the tasks. The Road Block was especially impossible lol
The no money/no begging was interesting too. So teams actually hitched rides in private vehicles?! 
Plus it appears they stayed in people's homes for the night, a la Airbnb? Interesting!

I still think TAR China is the most visually appealing current TAR. They have some amazing cinematography and the quality is very film like, just like TARAu was.

Yeah, just like China Rush before it, hitchhiking is legal in this season as long as another mode of transportation isn't specified. (GOTTA DRIVE THOSE INFINITIS!!!)

TAR China is probably so visually appealing because they don't cut out the production crews. Since they don't have to throw away like 30% of shots just because there's a crewmember or a cameraman in view means that they have a lot more amazing visuals to work with. TAR US needs to adopt this.

This week's Leg (technically speaking, the second half of Leg 3) takes place in the Cappadocia region of Turkey. Teams depart 3 minutes after one another according to last Leg's placings. Initially, they had to set up a hot air balloon and fly to the Detour region but this was aborted due to cloudy weather. The Judge decided to changed it to rolling up and storing the hot air balloon, which has its own difficulties.

The Detour is either  上马 or 下水. In 上马, teams have to shoot targets with arrows while riding on horseback. Each team member must shoot at least once; and three shots total completes the Detour. In 小水, teams have to designate a bath to fill up with sacks of salt until the water becomes buoyant enough to float (à la Dead Sea). Then they have to find from a mock newspaper an article related to them and read it aloud fully. Only Xiao Yang and Wang Taili did 下水; the rest did 上马.

After the Detour is a Double Battle task. Two teams oil up and fight each other out to rip off the other's belt. Standard Double Battle tasks apply. After the Double Battle, teams have to perform a belly dance routine in traditional Turkish dance clothes.

Finally, teams make it to the Derinkuyu (?) underground city and are tasked with three painting clues: reciting the names of men planning on a map, fill up a couple's cups with pressed grape juice and eat up all of the platters in front of a lady (then kissing her in the cheek). These people are frozen in time for centuries and completing each clue "unfreezes" them and earns them a treasure. Treasures can be accumulated out the city as teams only have 5 minutes to explore before they get chased out the city. After giving all three treasures they would receive the clue to the Pit Stop.

This leg's greeter is a man in traditional Ottoman clothing and a giant white beard.

1st Deng Zhiqi & Zhang Yunjing (Reward: 50,000 Yuan to donate to charity only but this is announced by the CEO of Infiniti)
2nd Han Geng & Wu Xin
3rd Yang Qianhua & Ding Zigao

5th Zeng Zhiwei & Zeng Baoyi (Initially 2nd but penalised 1 hour from skipping the couch-surfing task; ELIMINATED)

As pissed as the Chinese netizens for their accidental tactic of Yunjing bursting into tears making the Chopstick Brothers lose on purpose to console them, at least it's good they have more longevity and interesting moments unlike last season's.

Seems like there's no news of Team Running Man cancelling their intrusion unexpectedly even though they should have debuted at this or the last Leg. Better arrive in Europe jointly with the other Orange team!
